KMT  Portfolio

At KMT, we are dedicated to fostering positive change through our three pillars: Knowledge Building, Mediation Services, and Transformative Initiatives.

Knowledge Building (K): Our commitment to Knowledge Building involves the creation of interactive workshops designed to educate communities on conflict resolution and peacebuilding. We strive to empower individuals with the tools needed to navigate conflicts peacefully. Additionally, we have established a dynamic knowledge-sharing platform where experts can contribute research and insights on mediation and transformation, promoting a global exchange of ideas.

Mediation Services (M): Under Mediation Services, KMT offers professional mediation assistance to international organizations and governments seeking peaceful conflict resolution. We collaborate closely with local community leaders to establish mediation centers, ensuring accessible and confidential services. Our comprehensive approach includes the training and certification of diverse mediators, guaranteeing culturally sensitive mediation for a broad spectrum of conflicts.

Transformative Initiatives (T): Our Transformative Initiatives focus on designing and implementing community-based projects aimed at transforming entrenched conflicts and promoting reconciliation. Through dialogue circles and restorative justice programs, we facilitate healing, understanding, and empathy within communities. Additionally, KMT partners with local technocratic institutions to introduce conflict resolution and transformation curriculums in NGOs and official entities, fostering a sustainable culture of peace.

At KMT, we believe that by combining knowledge, mediation services, and transformative initiatives, we can contribute significantly to building a more harmonious and peaceful world.

Navigating the Complexities of Informal Settlements and Sustainable Development

In this issue of KMT Dialogues, we delve into the intricate and often overlooked relationships between informal settlements and the larger social and ecological systems in which they exist. It is not just a form of poverty, but also a way of producing and regulating power relations that can either benefit or marginalize different groups within society.

Through a series of insightful discussions, we examine the complex interplay between informal settlements and the environment, including their impact on natural resources and the challenges they pose for sustainable development. We also explore the broader political and economic forces that shape informal settlements, and the ways in which they are affected by these forces. Join us as we explore the multifaceted nature of informal settlements and their implications for sustainable development.

It is clear that policies and interventions aimed at addressing urban informality should take into account its complex and dynamic nature. Only then can we design effective solutions that address the root causes of urban informality and ensure sustainable development for all members of society.
